Altium & FluidFM Lunch & Learn at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research

Altium International and Cytosurge recently hosted a Lunch & Learn Seminar at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT. The event brought together researchers interested in precision single-cell manipulation and advanced methods for studying living cells.

Dr. Tobias Beyer, Chief Scientific Officer and Lead Business Development at Cytosurge, presented the FluidFM® OMNIUM Platform and its applications in single-cell research. FluidFM technology combines atomic force microscopy with microfluidics, enabling researchers to inject, extract from, manipulate, and isolate individual living cells with exceptional precision while preserving cell viability.

The presentation highlighted several applications of the platform, including:

  • Live-seq for longitudinal transcriptomic analysis of the same living cell
  • Targeted delivery of CRISPR-Cas RNPs, plasmids, and proteins into challenging cell types
  • Gentle isolation of rare cells for downstream spatial and multi-omic workflows

The seminar demonstrated how FluidFM technology allows researchers to move beyond single-timepoint analysis and conduct dynamic, functional studies of living cells.
